Today was a pretty low key day. The boys went downstairs this morning to play in the playroom in their pajamas. That’s the fun part of living in the “hotel”!
Then we drove to the next town over to go to the movies. We just needed to kill a good part of the day because being cooped up in a small space all day isn’t good for any one of us! So we saw the movie Small Foot. The boys loved it, and we did too actually. It was a cute little movie. Of course as long as the boys get their popcorn and soda they are always happy!
After the movie we made a Target run and headed back to our hotel room. We are REALLY hoping this will be the last week we have to live in the short term housing. When the boys are trying to play with their toys all the over the floor, and we are trying to heat up dinner or put groceries away we are literally all tripping over each other. It will be nice to be in a little bit larger space.
I am nervous to start this week because this is the week Radiation starts. I can’t believe we have been here at St. Jude 2 weeks already, and that it has been 4 weeks since Caleb’s surgery. In some ways it feels like so much longer, and in some ways it feels like just yesterday that our lives were so normal and our priorities were so different. Life here is good… it’s just… different. But we are growing more comfortable with our surroundings and the city of Memphis every day.
Praying that the radiation treatments do the job they’re supposed to with no side effects for Caleb! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Sounds like a good Sunday of togetherness and rest. love to all.
